Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup Besan( gram flour)
- 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp chilli powder
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/2 tbsp hing / asafoetida
- 1 tbsp ajwain
- 1 tbsp kasuri methi
- 1 onion
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 green chilli
- 1 carrot
- 1 capsicum
- 1 tomato
- little coriander leaves
- 1 cup water
- 5 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Take besan /gramflour in a large bowl
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder,salt, hing/ asafoetida, ajwain/ carom seeds and kasuri methi.
- Next add , finely chopped onions, ginger, green chillies, grated carrot, finely chopped capsicum, tomatoes, coriander leaves and mix well.
- Pour 1/2 cup of water and mix well.
- Pour another half cup and mix again.
- Check for seasoning and add anything if required.
- Heat a pan and pour a ladle of batter on it.
- Spread it gently and add some oil to the edges.
- Cook the chilla on medium low flame.
- Once it done on one side, flip it to the other sideand cook evenly.
- After the chilla is golden brown in color on both sides,remove it from the pan.
- Healthy and yummy besan ka chilla is ready to be served hot with mint chutney and tomato chutney by the side.
